Golf for seniors

Join free golf clinics, available to anyone 50 and over, so come join in the fun.

Sessions take place every Wednesday starting at 11 a.m. at Growling Frog Golf Course in Yan Yean and will continue until Wednesday, April 13.

Get your daily steps and some fresh air with Homestead Community and Learning Center which hosts a 30-45 minute walk every Wednesday of each month from 9:30am-10:30am.

Come to Broadmeadows Library on the Saturday of each month between 1pm and 4pm for the Chess Club.

Japanese binding

Ever wanted to create your own book? Well now you can. Craigieburn Library is hosting a Japanese Bookbinding Class on Thursday, March 31 at 8 p.m. Reservations are essential.

The comedy comes to you!

An impressive line-up of comedians will head north to Broadmeadows for the Comedy Festival.

It will take place on Friday 8 April from 8pm at Broadmeadows Town Hall, 10 Dimboola Road, Broadmeadows.

Adult tickets are $35 and adult concession tickets are $29.

Pop Culture Club

Join other young people who share your interests in books, anime, games and movies. Broadmeadows Library will host the event every Tuesday of the month from 3.30pm to 5pm.

CWA Art Exhibition

Are you ready to see some cute and quirky local art? Head to the creative art exhibit of the Country Women’s Association of Victoria Central Highlands Group. Happens at the Mechanics Institute in Lancefield on Saturday 9th April and Sunday 10th April, opening at 10am both days.

Lancefield Park Race Launch

Strap on your runners and join the relaunch of the Lancefield Park 5K Run, which takes place every Saturday at 8am at Lancefield Park. No need to be fast – participants can go at any pace. Meet at 62 Chauncey St, Lancefield, and don’t forget to sign up.

Sunbury Elders

Sunbury Seniors meet Mondays and Fridays at 8 O’Shanassy Street, Sunbury from 10am to 3pm. A variety of activities are offered – indoor boules, cards, billiards, guest speakers, day trips, subsidized lunches or just a cup of coffee and a chat. If you are 55 or older and want to make new friends.

Puppy pride

In what should be a barking good time, bring your dog to Kyneton Botanical Gardens on Sunday April 10th for a celebration of puppies and pride! The free LGBTIQA+ event is open to all and is part of the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival, filled with food and fun. Meet at St Agnes Place at 11.30am for the dog walk, or at the Botanical Gardens at 12pm for the celebrations.

Melton Friendship Group

Are you single, over 55 and living in or near Melton? Are you looking for new friends? Then the Melton Friendship Group is the group for you! The group meets fortnightly for coffees and evening discussions and organizes affordable outings and events.

Community singing group

If you love to sing, come join the Melton Singers. The band rehearses regularly and also performs in aged care facilities. The group is very laid back and mainly sings songs from the 60s and 70s. They meet on Tuesdays at 10am.

The Keilor Combined Probus Club resumes its activities after the confinements. The group meets on the third Monday of each month at the Keilor Pub. Welcome new members.

Duke Street Community Center started a women’s social group to give people a place to interact. The group will run every other Friday, starting at 1 p.m., as a way to connect with other women in the community in a safe, fun, and social way. It will be developed according to the needs of the participants and will take place in a relaxed setting.

Wyndham Ladies Probus

Are you recently retired or semi-retired? You are looking for fun, camaraderie and to increase your social networks. The Friends of Altona Library hold a book sale the first Tuesday, Friday and Saturday of each month at the rear of the Altona Library 123 Queen Street Altona, access via the Coles parking lot, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Go downstairs to pick up a new book or two.
